First Airplane Ride

Wednesday~May 20th, 2015

I was really excited about the opportunity to be able to work at the Wilds this summer, but extremely nervous about the trip from California to North Carolina!
The last time I had ridden airplane was almost two decades ago (I was around 5 and will be 22 soon)! Thankfully, David and I are working together, so I won't be flying alone. :)
Right before we left Sacramento
Tried taking one of those cool Instagram pictures
...it didn't work.
Well, we are off! On the way to Indiana, we sat next to a nice little gentleman who read about leadership and finances the entire flight. The flight only took four hours and we used it to: read and watch Iron Man III.

The flight itself was really smooth and enjoyable! We didn't need the flight attendent to inform us that we were entering Chicago, because we both noticed the change out the window; no longer was it calmy and sunny, but rather dark, cloudy, and rainy. Yup, definitely in Chicago. :)
Wishing I had brought my rain jacket right about now.
*Survived my first {in a long time} airplane ride*
After arriving in Chicago, we found our bags rather quickly and waited for our ride.
To be honest, I was a little worried because my phone battery was dying and the last I heard, our ride was 45 minutes late. I'm the planning-type of person, and this was DEFINITELY not on the schedule. ;)
Midway Airport in Chicago

After waiting (what seemed like forever) my aunt and uncle picked us up. They took us to an amazing Mexico food restaurant. :) By now, it was around 9pm (7pm our time).
After dinner, we headed to my grandparents house where we would be staying for the next three days. It was so nice to see them! They were up late, waiting for us and made us feel welcome and right at home!
Grandma had set this on my bed for me :)
By the end of the day, I was exhausted mentally, but I knew that the next few days would be full of more adventures!
